Hi all
Rover 75 2.5 Litre
Failed MOT last week Electronic stability system warning lamp indicates a fault (3.4.1c)
This is the traction control light stays on which at last years MOT was advisory (Different Garage)
Did not bother trying to fix it last year because I was not worried but planned to sort it out at some time

Any thoughts on this anyone?
Which tester is correct
Is traction control part of Electronic Stability System

If I can't fix it can the T4 remove Traaction Control from the system then I will remove it

Thank's
Glen

Hi Rob
It's Rover 75 2.5Litre Connie SE V6 Petrol on W plate year is 2000
Sorry should have made it more clear

Traction control was apparently an option when ordered
Would like to keep it original if possible but if can't fix then I will have to take it off somehow for MOT

All the best

Ok there are 2 different systems, If your traction control light stays on all the time, there is a fault with the Traction Control Unit. They are notorious for stripping the white plastic gear inside the actuator motor on a V6.

I have TC on my diesel and that can be removed by code changes via T4 so i assume the V6 is the same

Thank you Rob

Much appreciated help there

Looks like I will have to ask someone to disable it with T4 and then I can remove the Traction Control parts and switch
I do want to keep original if I can with traction control even though I do not need it
I did want to fix it at some time but it did not seem to be a major problem until now
Thing is last MOT it was only advisory, no change since then, light comes on every time just as it has always done
But this time it is a fail??
Electronic stability system warning lamp indicates a fault (3.4.1c)
Do our cars have Electronic stability system?
I thought we had ABS standard and Traction Control as option
Don't forget this is a year 2000 car

Thank You

They don't have Electronic stability, but traction control is an option on V6 and diesel..

You could try the traders on the owners club to see if anyone has an actuator , or e bay , it's the same one as fitted to an e39 BMW I believe
