Well although i had dropped in to earlier meets to see Arctic and his wife Gail,( who i met through there dog Bruno)
This time i came in my first ever 75 and joined the club as a newbie. And i was introduced to a few other members , all seemed to be a good sort and willing to chat.
Got my name down for a headlamp polish in may, and maybe get someone to look at my sunroof blind. really enjoyed my few hours there but im afraid it was to cold for me. but will certainly be back in may.

Although the drinks are the right price the food is over the top £16.95 for 8oz rump and £19.95 for a mixed grill.Even £12.95 for fish and chips. 5 of us had a meal Friday night and a few drinks. Just hope the prices come down a bit for a main road pub.

Derek, as you know the "campers" went in for food on Friday and found it pricey as you say so we didn't go in on Saturday as we usually do, mind you they had a coach party in and looked busy.

The other pub run by the owner Doug is in Cannock and they have 2 meals for £12 and the place always looks busy and its a bit baffling why an offer like that is not on at the Ashes at least while he tries to build trade up.

Rob.
Did anyone go in and see the owner and get his take on the weekend, I noted he came up to the filed to take a few photo's so did the managers niece for her instagram page, if not then maybe at the meet social meet we can get their view on how the weekend went for them, I did not hear much talk of anyone going up to the pub for a drink or a bite to eat?

I will probably give him a ring Steve, we didn't go in on Saturday night as the food prices are high and people vote with their feet but there was also a coach party in there related to the Wolves V Man Utd game I reckon so I dont thing they missed our contribution as the pub looked quite busy. Food is upwards of a tenner yet his other established pub in Cannock do 2 meals for £12 so no idea why he doesn't introduce that at the Ashes to get it going
