Well on all the previous closures the most that happened security wise was a Christmas cracker padlock so I'm seeing this as a positive move hopefully by Dameon.

Been on the New River website to look at their available pubs, and guess what Four Ashes is there again to rent as a tenancy, will post a picture up later.

So unless they never took the listing off after Damon took it on it’s bad news for us as no one will take it on until lockdown finishes so looks like June meet will be off too so earliest now could be July

Thanks Rob

Personally the July meet is iffy in my view lockdown wise, maybe something in August possibly venue permitting

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the old advert, but until we can find out from Damon or whoever we won't really know. I think this year could be totally written off I'm sad to say, I also think we now have to seriously think about other venues to try and secure future Nano meets once this virus has let its grip go.

It's quite away from our normal venue, but when we went shopping we passed this place:

https://www.facebook.com/thekicafe/

The sign says they welcome car meets. I don't know if they have the space for the kind of numbers we get, and if they'd be happy for us to 'take over' for a complete weekend each month.

It's an ex petrol station so there's a bit of space on the forecourt but no idea what else. It's also more of a biker place than car clubs. I do know it's open at the moment as bikers have been using it.

Scene at the Ashes today, there are still concrete blocks on the car park to avoid anyone getting on and using the field which is presumably aimed at travellers, but the car park on entry is still accessible and big enough for a few unwanted visitors so I do hope someone is keeping an eye on the place, one sign of some encouragement was a sign on the door which I would like to think has been put there by Damon rather than the owning company but who knows.

Well Boris is easing things up so I think July is an outside possibility but August is more likely.

All depends on the ashes opening but I'm hoping the bollards were put up by Dameon.

Also any one noticed the 2 waggons now boxed in on the sports field?

I'm pretty sure they've been there quite a while, even when the previous tenant was there.

I think they have something to do with the people whom put up the bouncy castles etc.
