Was a great meet. And in spite of the poor weather to start, and no T4 (good job given the weather) we got some jobs done.

Oh, and have solved the powerfold mirrors conundrum. It was swapping the connections on the passenger side that fixed it. As soon as I looked at the circuit diagram it was a 'doh' moment. The wires in the drivers door feed BOTH mirrors, so swapping those swap BOTH mirrors!!! No wonder we were getting nowhere fast.

I did ask if they were the correct wires. I should have been more persistent and followed it up. :getmecoat:

Yes, that was what I was misunderstanding. They were the right wires, but the wrong place to swap them as it were. They did run right across the car to the other mirror. So every time we swapped, it did reverse the direction of the passenger mirror. What I failed to twig was the same wires were also spliced off to go to the drivers mirror so we swapped that too keeping them out of sync. So swapping those wires at either mirror would work, but never at the switch, as it swapped both mirrors.

A good turnout today even though the weather was poor to start with, Simon finally had his powerfold mirrors fitted and we had around 14 cars

That was the last nano meet of 2025 and I would like to thank all of you who supported us through the year , we will go again in 2026 and the meeting dates will be released early in the new year , in the meantime a big thanks to the regulars who turn up and keep these meets going you know who you are and wishing you all best wishes for Christmas and the new year

The monthly social meets at the Dog and Partridge will still continue and all are welcome , and the website will still be monitored so if you have any questions or feedback please continue to post

The one thing that I learned in my years of managing a team of service engineers is that the more that someone knew about a subject then the more likely they were to miss the simple solutions to a problem.

Another good turnout and the weather wasn't that bad in the end.

Glad Duncan sorted out the reason for the wiring and can sleep at night now.
